Cedar decks have been a staple for deck building for centuries. Unfortunately they just cant grow the same cedar they used to because of inflation and trying to speed grow lesser strains, so we pay for it. You have to adapt to keep with the times and if something is a better more economical product why not take that route, save time, money and, stress knowing you have a safe, beautiful and maintenance free deck that will last a life time.
ALUMINUM DECK
Our favorite product is the lock-dry aluminum deck system . Fire proof, water proof, strong, slip free surfaces that stay cool to the touch unlike wood or composite. Using a lock dry system you will water proof all the space below your deck allowing for a dry sunroom, storage or covered sitting area. This deck system has no visible fasteners and almost zero waste product unlike traditional decks. There are many color and finish options for aluminum decking that can even resemble real wood.
IPE DECKING
Our next favorite is IPE (pronounced epay). A south American exotic hardwood that out lasts, out looks and, out strengths cedar wood. Fire proof (Yes that’s right! IPE passes north American fire code for fire proof products) sheds water, does not require staining or sealing, very dense and beautiful grain patterns. Ideal for moist and high traffic areas. IPE sticks with the traditional look without the traditional product faults.
RAILINGS
Stronger, cleaner, low maintenance, better product than traditional wood, period. Ranging from glass panel to picket to the new upcoming style cable railings.
Horizontal cable railings give you a less obstructed view with all the strength ,style and, function. They are also by far the lowest maintenance railings. They hardly ever get dirty and if they do its a simple few swipes of a cloth and good as new!
